HISTORY OF THE SKINNER BROTHERS

In the 1960’s in Anaheim, California, Robert B. Skinner formed a small family business imprinting on the covers of book matches. Robert and his two identical twin sons rented a space at the Orange Swap Meet. Shoppers would order their book matches and the team would go to work having that order ready about 30 minutes later. All day long the family would work and divide the profits at the end of the day. That was the start of Skinner Bros. Company Imprinters. That also was the first time Dan and Dave Skinner worked together.

While in high school, the boys earned spending money and spent Saturdays and Sundays in the hot sun selling book matches for weddings, birthdays and Christmas presents. Robert soon developed other product lines such as name tags and wall plaques. The company grew as Dan and Dave, the original Skinner Brothers went to USC and eventually Southwestern University School of Law.

After law school, the Skinner Brothers each ventured into their own areas of practice. Daniel Skinner clerked for the defense firm of Ruston & Nance. He took his first Associate position with the Law Offices of James J. DiCesare, specializing in personal injury claims. Daniel Skinner spent 9 years with the firm before venturing on his own for a couple more years before taking a position with the Orange County Superior Court as a legal research attorney.

David Skinner also clerked for several small defense firms before taking an Associate position with a collection firm. After several years, David was offered an opportunity to take over a practice from a senior attorney who was looking to retire. Dave became the owner of Cohen and Skinner.

After not having worked together since the original Skinner Brothers Imprinting business, the twins joined forces in 2006. The firm of Skinner & Skinner provides double assurance that your interests are represented.
